At KnutWall, we specialize in signage and labeling for technical installations.
The company KnutWall was founded in the 1960s by Knut Wall himself, who at the time produced marking sleeves for installers locally in Stockholm. Back then, text was handwritten on the sleeves, which were then processed in an oven to burn the writing onto them permanently. In 1975, Lilly and Rodger Wikström took over the company, which was renamed Knut Wall. The successors, Lilly & Rodger, operated in Hägersten and developed new types of cable and conductor marking sleeves.
In April 2009, the company was acquired by brothers Per and Johan Forssén, who relocated the business to Södertälje and changed the name to Knutwall Marking Systems AB. A new machinery park was purchased, significantly improving production efficiency for cable and conductor marking manufacturing. The new machinery resulted in significantly shorter lead times, and orders placed before 4:00 PM are now shipped the same day. Additionally, new machines were introduced for heat shrink tubing – previously, each marking was hot-stamped by hand. The new machine allows for logos and text to be printed within just a few minutes after an order is placed.
In the fall of 2009, we noticed that something was missing from our product range. A laser engraving machine was acquired, and the production of engraved plastic signs began. In 2010, KnutWall launched its first website, featuring many new and smart functions. Cable and conductor marking, as well as signage, can now be ordered quickly and easily online. In the first quarter of 2011, the team was expanded with a new salesperson.
Between 2017 and 2024, we at KnutWall have made significant progress in the right direction. Roberth Ahlbeck had just started working full-time at KnutWall and left his career in electrical installation. In January 2017, Fredrik Modh also joined the company, taking over sales operations. At the time of the takeover, our revenue was around 3.5 million. Over the next 1–2 years, we saw a drastic increase in customer acquisition and revenue, leading to Fredrik Modh and Roberth Ahlbeck becoming co-owners in January 2019. Years have passed, and today we have one of the most modern machinery parks in the market, delivering over 10,000 signs per day with more than 25 employees and an annual turnover of approximately 45 million.
We have a bright outlook for the future and aim to continue expanding our product range, acquiring new customers, and entering new markets.
